Graham's 10th Month

Weight:  About 21 pounds

Height: About 29.5 inches

Clothing Size: 12 month clothes

Milestones Reached: He can eats small bites of regular food without gagging.

Teeth: Still two teeth.

Special Outings: We went to the Zoo! Graham loved the zoo...mainly because he loved being around all the people. He giggled when he saw the fast swimming otter and the swinging monkeys. His favorite part was the water fountains you could play in. He loved it!

Donut Man! That's right! You heard me! We went to see The Dunut Man live in Concert. It was a small concert but it was perfect! Graham loved it and so did Landon and I. It was pretty exciting. He sang Graham's favorite songs and we got him some movies and a Duncan toy.

We also went to Florida for Carly's wedding. It was really hard for him to be int he car for 26 hours in one weekend but we made it! He was a trouper!

Routine: Graham takes 4 bottles and 2 naps now. We added in play pen time this month. It gives me a chance to clean up the kitchen after meals. He didn't like it the first two times but now he does great! As long as he doesn't see me he is happy to play with his toys. His schedule is:

8:00 wake and bottle
10:30-12:00 Nap
12:00 Solids and bottle
12:30-12:45 Playpen time
4:00 Bottle
4:00-5:30 Nap
6:30 Solids
7:00-7:20 Play Pen time
8:00 Bath and bed routine
8:30 Bottle
9:00 Bed

Favorites:

  • Books: Dear Zoo, My First Animals, Baby Animals and Sounds, That's Not My Duck, and Touchy Feely Finger Play
  • Music: All things Donut Man (Especially: Shout Hosanna!) STILL!
  • Toys: His Police car, anything he can push, Sock Monkey in the Box, stacking rings, and elephant shape sorter.
  • Activities: Reading books, pushing the chairs around the kitchen, getting into every box/bin/cabinet/shelf/etc., playing with toys, playing int he bath tub, being chased, going to Pea Pods.
Highlights: Taking him to the zoo and taking him to see the Donut Man.

Big Changes: He is learning the word "no". He responds to it half of the time and we are still practicing. He also takes a bath by himself (I think he started doing that at 8 months but I forgot to write it in that month).

He is starting to talk a lot! None of it makes any sense but he thinks it does. He does say "dada" a lot but I'm not sure if he knows what it means yet. He only says "mama" when he is upset and crying, don't think he knows what that means either.

Thoughts: Sometimes it's so hard to believe that he was every a tiny baby. He is growing so fast and I can't believe that in only two months he will be 1 years old. It's so fun to watch how excited he gets when people come over to visit or when people come up and talk to him in the shopping cart. He definitely needs a sibling but it's not time for that yet. ;)

Graham's 9th Month

Weight:  21 pounds

Height: 29.5 inches

Clothing Size: 12 month clothes in Carters, and 6-12 month clothes at Baby Gap

Milestones Reached: Graham is pulling up and climbing on everything. He is crawling like lightning and is everywhere! He is also starting to eat more solid foods.

Teeth: Graham got his first two teeth right when he turned 8 months old but they are really starting to show now. You can see them when he smiles. :)

Special Outings: We went down to Fairhope for July 4th weekend. Graham got to play with Speedy the cat, swim in the pool, and play with Pop-Pop and Grannah.

Routine: Graham takes 4 bottles and 2 naps now. His schedule is:

8:00 wake and bottle
10:30-12:00 Nap
12:00 Solids and bottle
4:00 Bottle
4:00-5:30 Nap
6:30 Solids
8:00 Bath and bed routine
8:30 Bottle
9:00 Bed

Favorites:

  • Books: Dear Zoo, My First Animals, Baby Animals and Sounds,
  • Music: All things Donut Man (Especially: Shout Hosanna!) STILL
  • Toys: Baby drum, rings, anything he find on the floor.
  • Activities: Crawling, pulling up on everything, trying to open all the cabinets, bath time, reading books, finding every little crumb/leaf/etc on the floor and putting it in his mouth.

Highlights: Watching him discover the world around him. Everything is so new and exciting for him.

Big Changes: No huge changes this month except that he sleeps through the night again. He started sleeping through the night at 8 months one week. So the sleep regression lasted about 3 weeks. I feel like a real person again with real sleep!

Thoughts: I can't believe he is growing so fast! I want time to slow down a little bit. He is such a happy baby and we love him so much.
