Finally! I'm going to learn to be the perfect wife! (Isn't that how it works?)
The missions conference is coming up at Briarwood which means Landon is busy busy busy! For the past two weeks he has been working from 8:00a.m. to 11:00p.m. each day--including Saturdays and Sunday evenings. We are so very thankful for his job. He is getting so much experience and really getting to use his talents for the Lord. What more could you ask for? But the time apart can be stressful.
Well, guess who now has a chance to be an encouraging wife? You got it-me! My first reaction to not seeing my husband very often is to feel sorry for myself. No, I'm not the one working 15 hour days but I somehow manage to make it all about me. Interesting how that is so easy for me to do. To top it off Landon told me he had to work through the weekend and we wouldn't be able to go to the marriage retreat.
While I was home alone over the weekend missing the conference I learned so much about marriage. If you spend your time having a pity party you miss out on so many opportunities to be an encouraging wife.
I don't want to ever waist my time feeling sorry for myself again. I missed some precious time with Landon. I want even the little amount of time we have together to be a blessing.
God is sanctifying me daily.
She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

I hope this will one day be said of me.
