To Feast or Not to Feast?

3.2.12 To Feast or Not to Feast

6:20 Realize I overslept 20 minutes. Trudge off to get ready for a busy busy Friday.

6:55 Realize my dress smells funny even after washing last night. Search for the Fabrize.

7:00 Can’t find my keys. Finally find them in a pile of laundry that I have yet to fold…from last Sunday.

7:07 Load everything up in the car and finally head off to school only running 7 minutes behind!

7:20 Arrive at school, frantically pass out graded papers and Friday folders, run around making my copies.

7:35 Now I’m sweating because the air in my room is still switched on heat (it is 65* outside), I rush to the restroom to change into my Medieval Dress. Yes, today is the day all 4th graders anxiously await—Medieval Feast!

7:40 All my students arrive looking amazing as knights and princesses.

8:30 We hear of terrible weather headed our way. Talk of tornadoes in the air.

8:50 Feast has officially been postponed. How do I tell the kids? How do I tell the kids??

10:00 Mrs. Garrett announces the new plan.

10:15 Practicing our lovely Medieval Waltz to be performed on Monday. (A few students excited for an extra day to practice…and a few students disappointed about the extra day to practice.)

11:00 students start to get a little rambunctious because of all of the excitement.

11:45 Read this book to the kids: A Medieval Feast

12:30 Parade through the school looking lovely and handsome giving a polite curtsy and bow or two.

12:50 Prayer for the weather and feast—dismissal.

1:00 Hastily begin to make new plans for Monday

2:15 Still answering many e-mails about the change of plans.

2:30 A chance to take a breath, pack up all my belongings at school, and head out to run errands.

3:15 Instead of running errands I decide to head to Sonic for Happy Hour to get a Large Vanilla Diet Coke—Drink of choice.

4:45 Finish talking to my mom on the phone for an hour and a half. Catch up on life and let her know the weather looks perfect.

5:00 The weather looks perfect! Prettiest day of the year! What???!!! I better see some rain or I’m going to have some sad little students on Monday.

5:02 Landon Comes Home!!!

5:05 Figure out what to make my sweet husband for dinner.

5:40 Back to Feast Preparations while watching “Boy Movie” with Landon.

7:05 Mexican Lasagna is finished! (Tastes yummy, I might add. I will make this again)

8:35 Still no bad weather! (I know I shouldn’t wish for bad weather…but a little lightening or something would be great!)

8:45 Look at houses with Landon, pick out 11 of our new favorites. Some for price, some for square footage, some for the beauty. We will be off to see them in the morning. :)

9:00 Hang out with Landon’s parents for a while and finally a little lightening.

Hear Ye, hear ye! We will reconvene for a night of feasting and merriment on Monday, March 5th! I will be clad in my royal attire for a second time this week. Alas, it is time have come for me to bid you, farewell.
